Membership Types

 

Membership in the AATSP is open to all those who support the teaching of Spanish and Portuguese from pre-kindergarten through graduate school.

COST OF PRINT VERSION OF HISPANIA

The electronic version of Hispania is included in the dues payment for all membership types. The print version of Hispania is available to all membership categories for $10.00 per year.

MEMBERSHIP TYPES

Regular Regular membership is open to all teachers of Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian languages, literatures, and cultures, and to all others interested in such languages, literatures, and cultures. ($65.00)
Student

Student membership is open to bona fide undergraduate and graduate students below the rank of Instructor, who are enrolled during the academic year in a course of study leading to a degree, not to exceed a total of three (3) years. Proof of student status is required. ($25.00)

Joint

Joint Membership is available to two individuals residing at the same residential address. A Joint Membership cannot be processed online. Please contact the AATSP for instructions to insure proper processing. ($100.00)

Life

Regular members who have paid dues for forty (40) years automatically become life members exempt from payment of dues. Life membership can be purchased for a onetime fee of $1950.00 or three annual installments of $650.00. With each decade of regular membership in good standing, the fee for life membership is reduced by one-fourth. Life members are entitled to all privileges of membership.

Emeritus

Emeritus membership is available to any retired member who has paid dues to the AATSP for at least thirty (30) years. Emeritus members are entitled to all privileges of membership, except the right to receive Hispania free. Hispania is available to Emeritus members for an annual fee of $10.00.

Honorary   

Invited and accepted upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors.

 

 

By order of its Bylaws, the AATSP is organized as an Association with affiliate Chapters of the Corporation, each with its own set of Bylaws and officers. Chapter membership is included automatically as part of the Association membership. Chapters may be organized by ten (10) or more members of the Corporation in good standing. Each has an appropriate geographical name and Bylaws  that must be in agreement with the principles and purposes of the Corporation. Association members are generally assigned to chapters according to the school/institution zip codes.
