Friday, March 31, 2017

The Editors of Hispania invite you to read the first issue of journal’s 100th year (100.1), which is available in print and online.

Editor Sheri Spaine Long outlines the celebration of this milestone in her Editor’s Column. Eduardo Lolo contributes the Special Feature titled “Literatura cubana: Del terruño al Universo.” The four articles on linguistics or language science focus on university language requirements, Argentine Spanish adverb and mood usage, Guarani morphology in Paraguayan Spanish, and juridical Spanish in colonial Americas. The authors of the five articles in the literature and culture section study novels by Rolando Hinojosa, poetry and drama by María Rosa Gálvez, the poetry of Nicomedes Santa Cruz, the autobiography by Isabel Oyarzábal Smith, and a novel by Lygia Fagundes Telles. The nineteen reviews include Edward Friedman’s review of MicroQuijotes 2, an anthology of different takes of Cervantes’s two-part novel.
